BioThema*專注于螢火蟲熒光素酶反應(yīng)的分析應(yīng)用，無論是檢測細胞，測量酶活性還是其他東西。在該反應(yīng)中，用ATP（三磷酸腺苷）活化熒光素，然后氧化成氧化熒光素和CO 2。氧化熒光素以激發(fā)態(tài)形成，并在進入其基態(tài)時發(fā)光。通常在所謂的發(fā)光計中測量光。

在ATP的測定中，光發(fā)射可以基本上恒定或快速衰減。因此，基于螢火蟲熒光素酶反應(yīng)，存在穩(wěn)定的光和閃光型ATP試劑。在熒光素酶水平低的情況下，每分鐘消耗的ATP比例可以忽略不計，然后光可以幾乎恒定但也很低。在高水平的熒光素酶下，ATP被消耗是不可避免的，導(dǎo)致光迅速減少，但初峰值光很高。實際上，峰高和衰減率都與熒光素酶活性成比例。BioThema開發(fā)了三種ATP試劑
